Ontario's health regions manage and allocate health care resources, including funding, to various health care providers and organizations such as hospitals, community providers and long-term care facilities. All six regions, as well as the Sector Support, Performance and Accountability portfolio, which oversees provincial PTAs and all health service providers (HSPs), have the same need for a funding management function, but vary in the way it is managed. The processes, volumes and level of automation included in current processes vary across Ontario Health regions and ministry teams.
