Description:
The City of Kelowna is seeking a qualified Refrigeration Consulting Engineer to provide specialized consulting services related to ice‑rink ammonia refrigeration systems. At a high level, the consultant will offer technical expertise, strategic guidance, and engineering support for evaluating existing refrigeration infrastructure and identifying opportunities for system enhancements. The role also includes reviewing current facility conditions, supporting future upgrade planning, and recommending energy‑efficient and sustainable solutions, including heat recovery. The City expects the consultant to apply specialized knowledge specific to arena refrigeration, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide budget input and technical recommendations. Key outcomes include feasibility reporting, budgeting guidance, design support, and presentations of findings. The estimated value of the Deliverables, as further described in Appendix C Section 1, is not to exceed $1 million for the full term of the Contract.
