Trident Construction Wins CAD 23.47 Million Bridge Replacement Contract in Newfoundland and Labrador
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has awarded a CAD 23.47 million contract to Trident Construction Ltd. for bridge replacement and civil works along Route 220A in the province's Eastern Region. The project is designed to improve transportation infrastructure, enhance road safety, and replace aging bridge structures serving the Marystown area.
The contract was awarded on 20 August 2026 under Notice Reference 0003-26PSB by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Transportation & Infrastructure department.
Major Bridge Infrastructure Contract Award
According to the award details, Trident Construction Ltd. secured the contract for the Bridge Replacements - Eastern Region – Route 220A project. The agreement is valued at CAD 23,473,052.50.
The procurement covers several components of civil and bridge construction work, with the project focused on replacing critical structures along Route 220A. The award forms part of the province's ongoing investment in transportation infrastructure and road network modernization.
Replacing Key Marystown Bridges
The project includes the replacement of the Marystown Harbour (Canning) Bridge at approximately kilometre 0.7 on Route 220A and the Marystown Underpass at approximately kilometre 0.5.
The contract also includes the removal of the existing diversion bridge at Route 220A km 0.7, together with associated civil works. These improvements are expected to strengthen the route's reliability and provide safer, more durable infrastructure for motorists and local communities.
