The Bradford Bypass Programme, one of the biggest regional infrastructure projects undertaken by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), has advanced significantly. The Ministry has formally awarded CH2M Hill Canada Limited the Programme Management Consultant (PMC) contract after a lengthy and fiercely competitive procurement process.
The Bradford Bypass will be guided through planning, engineering, and construction over the next few years thanks to this award, which was announced on December 3, 2025.
Highway 400 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and Highway 404 in the Town of East Gwillimbury will be connected by the 16.3-kilometre, four-lane Bradford Bypass. One of Ontario's most well-known transport projects, the bypass is intended to ease traffic, reduce travel times, and promote economic growth.
Several jurisdictions will be impacted by the project, including:
Bradford West Gwillimbury Town
King Township
East Gwillimbury Town
In the rapidly expanding Greater Golden Horseshoe region, the highway is anticipated to alleviate long-standing traffic bottlenecks and promote regional connectivity.
CH2M Hill Canada Limited was given the PMC contract (Solicitation No. 2025-C-2307) by the Ministry for a total of $135,348,676. The project will run from November 28, 2025, to December 31, 2032.

ensuring integrated and effective delivery by supervising construction across three main sections.
Only companies authorised in the Ministry's RAQS (Registry, Appraisal and Qualification System) under the speciality were permitted to participate in this RFP.

Several points of contact for technical explanations
On July 17, 2025, a virtual information session took place.
Strict deadlines for Q&A and bid submission
The Bradford Bypass's size, complexity, and vital importance are highlighted by the procurement's competitive nature.
The Ontario government's dedication to developing significant highway infrastructure is demonstrated by the awarding of this contract. Given the rapid population growth in Simcoe County and York Region, the Bradford Bypass is anticipated to:
Cut down on traffic on local roads

Encourage long-term trends in regional development
Now that CH2M Hill Canada is officially involved, the project enters a new stage of organised and efficient delivery.
